Fabricator:
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Fabricator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding and fabrication, with the ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship. As a Fabricator, you will play a crucial role in the production process, ensuring that all components meet the required specifications and standards.
Duties:
Combine stiles and rails according to shop drawings and build sheets to create perfectly squared (within established tolerances) raw doors ready for glass and hardware install
Assist in the fabrication of brake metal/sheet metal
Manage a personal daily schedule, striving to hit completion goals set by Production Manager and Door Shop Lead
Maintain a clean and orderly workspace
Utilize tools, equipment, and material in a safe and proper manner
Assist with material handling including loading and unloading trucks, pulling stock for production, and general shop/warehouse organization
Assist in other general shop fabrication and warehousing duties as assigned by a supervisor
Occasionally assist with field service or installation of doors and frames as needed
Knowledge and Skills
Basic skill in utilizing common hand tools and power tools such as drill/driver, impact driver, mitre saw, palm router, tape measure, speed square, spring punch, metal files
Capable of performing basic math functions related to reading a tape measure and converting fractions
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs
Accountable team player
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Installer:
Are you a hard worker who pays attention to details? If so, working for an installer for our team will be the perfect employment for you. We are seeking a fast learner and tasks learned on the job. Full-time hours and work with a team and responsibility for doing the work right and treating our customers with courtesy and respect.
Job Duties
Set glass into frames and bolt metal hinges, locks, handles and other hardware to attach doors/windows to frames and walls.
Install pre-assembled metal frameworks for doors and windows before glass panel installation using hand tools.
Cut, put together, measure or install metal frames and enclosures for glass panels in various areas and structures.
Read and understand blueprints and specifications to know necessary work details, including color, shape, size, type and thickness of glass to be installed, framing location, procedures for installation and any scaffolding or other staging items needed before beginning work.
Drive your vehicle to work locations and unload tools and equipment and use suction cups or cranes to lift out glass panels.
Cut and remove old and broken glass before installing replacement glass.
Pack loose areas between glass panels and molding or frames with glazing compound, and trim excess material with a glazing knife
Lift, hold and secure glass panels and mirrors into position with putty, cement, screws or bolts.
Knowledge and Skills
High school diploma or equivalent
Understand building and construction methods, materials and tools (we will train)
Know all OSHA construction jobsite requirements (we will provide)
Know and understand mathematics and their practical applications.

The MGG Glazier 1 Apprenticeship Program is a 2-year, state-certified certificate program. Apprentices will learn this critical construction trade from experienced master glaziers through a combination of classroom instruction and real-world field work. Participants will all be paired with an experienced mentor and can expect to develop skill in custom metal fabrication, commercial aluminum door and window installation, site safety, commercial construction communications, reading architectural plans and specs, heavy equipment operation, and architectural hardware installation and troubleshooting.
At the successful completion of the program, all apprentices will have received:
Journeyman Certificate signed by the Governor of Kansas (fully transferrable)
State-Issued Journeyman Card (fully transferrable)
Equipment Operator's Certification Card
OSHA 10 Certification
Competitive pay starting day 1 with increases throughout the program
